Abstract

The American Psychiatric Association's journals are focusing on substance use disorders (SUDs) in current issues. The April issues of two of the American Psychiatric Association's journals, The American Journal of Psychiatry (https://ajp.psychiatryonline.org/) and Psychiatric Services (https://ps.psychiatryonline.org/) are available online. Also available is the latest issue of The American Journal of Psychotherapy (https://psychotherapy.psychiatryonline.org/), which is the most widely read psychiatric journal in the world. The April issue of The American Journal of Psychiatry features research that illustrates the fundamental importance of integrating clinical and basic approaches in the pursuit of a deeper understanding of psychiatric disorders. Among the highlights is “Association of Medication Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder With Suicide Mortality.” Psychiatric Services features research reports on issues related to the delivery of mental health services, especially for people with serious mental illness in community‐based treatment programs. The April issue of Psychiatric Services includes “Telehealth Adoption by Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Treatment Facilities in the COVID‐19 Pandemic.”
