Abstract

In this article, I present a review of the international literature on self-regulated music learn-ing, presenting works with a theoretical profile (review and theoretical works, properly) and experimental (empirical research). This review has as the primary goal to discuss results of research that aim to apply the theoretical approaches of self-regulated learning in musical activities. This discussion highlights the studies that examine, tangentially or directly, the theme of my research, namely: the acquisition of autonomy in practice during higher educa-tion in music. With this review, I seek to situate the reader on state of the art in this theme and support research in the field of performance pedagogy, both the discussion of its theoretical foundation and the indication of strategies for conducting experimental research.
