Abstract

This paper deals with an approximation method to obtain a sub-optimal control law in the field of energy regenerative active suspension. LQ control theory cannot be applied to this matter because the form of performance index is not quadratic, But, a sub-optimal control law is obtained by this method without regard to the form of performance index. Random road surface input simulation was carried out using the two-degree-of-freedom quarter-car model and results of this method and other usual control laws are compared. As a result, it is clarified that this method is useful to design energy regenerative control systems.
