Abstract

Simple approximate correction factors for electronic relativistic effects in L-shell ionisation cross sections by low-energy charged-particle impact have been derived. The factors obtained are compared with the relativistic plane-wave Born approximation calculations using the Dirac wavefunctions and with other approximate correction methods. In the energy region of interest, the present method is found to represent well the relativistic effects.
