Abstract
Analytical methods for product-form open and closed networks provide a fast, computationally efficient method for obtaining first order moment estimates of steady-state manufacturing system performance. In this paper we expand the use of efficient algorithms for steady-state analysis to develop approximate performance measures under dynamic conditions. Good approximations are shown to be obtainable for production system output under non-stationary demand and capacity.
