Abstract

The utility of the ESE MO formalism is examined in relation to ab initio results, when a typical small gaussian basis is employed. Good electronic structure predictions result from simplified schemes based on the ESE MO formalism, despite adverse features of the chosen basis set, for the diverse group of molecules FH, OH 2, NH 3, FCN, O 3 and OF 2.
