Abstract

BEFORE passing to the analyses of the data reported by the membership regarding the three aspects of their employment status, it is pertinent to note that there are distinct limitations attaching to the findings of the preceding analyses of monthly salary rates. These earnings, to be sure, do indicate the general level of prevailing rates at which the members were able to sell their professional services. There is no justification, however, for applying these general rates of monthly earnings to individual members of the SOCIETY, because at any particular experience level these rates are a composite of earnings. Actually, they include earnings reported by male and female regular members and male and female junior members, among whom there are especially marked differences with respect to formal educational training and professional experience.
