Research Article| May 01 2020 “Approved Flesh”: The Sacrificial Foundations of Modernity in Peter Shaffer’s Equus Norrec Nieh Norrec Nieh New York University NORREC NIEH is a writer and multimedia artist based in New York City. He is currently enrolled in the XE: Experimental Humanities and Social Engagement master’s program at New York University. His academic research examines the violent and/or ritual aspects of secular life. He has worked in on- and off-Broadway theater as a sound design associate, and has also studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute as an actor.
