Abstract

New media penetrates people’s lives in thorough aspects, and the majority of people are inclined to receive information through the Internet instead of purchasing newspapers or other approaches to get to know the events around the world. Some experts think it is undisputed that the promising prospect of new media will harm traditional media. As a result, the status of the traditional media arouse the public concern and at the same time provoke a heated discussion among individuals. The total printing volume has declined for nine consecutive years since 2012, and especially since 2020, the COVID-19 impacted the traditional media severely. The article aims at claiming the benefits of the fusion of new media and traditional media and studying the attitude towards each of the media and the fusion of two kinds of media. The research involves the literature reference method to illustrate the two-sides of each type of media. The article analyzes a lot of data from official website and the essay [1]. The impact of new media on traditional media was written by Lavanya Rajendran and Preethi Thesinghraja to identify the tendency of these media. Eventually, conclusions are drawn that it is profitable to combine the new media with the traditional media.
