Abstract

The transformation of socialist work into communist work is one of the central tasks in the building of communism. The definition of communism formulated in the Program of the CPSU includes as a most important characteristic of the new society the view that labor for the good of society becomes for all a primary life necessity. The change in the nature of work owing to an increase in technical equipment, the rise in culture and consciousness of workers will lead under conditions of a socialist structure of society to the appearance and development in people of an internal need to work for the good of society, voluntarily and in accordance with one's capacity. Work activity will, under communism, cease to be merely a means of gaining a livelihood and will be converted into genuine creativity, and a source of happiness.
