Abstract
Introduction: Several surgical limitations must be noted in designing an approach to the lesions placed around the clivus. Anterior approaches include transoral and transbasal. These approaches are limited by vasa, nerves, and the risk of CSF leak. The lateral transcondylar approach provides an avenue to the lower clivus, ventral brainstem, and the structures below the internal auditory canal.
