Abstract
ABSTRACT Previous work has suggested that students taking postgraduate taught courses may adopt a reproducing orientation to studying because of a heavy curriculum and the pressure of examinations. The present study found no basis for this notion in a comparison of undergraduate and postgraduate students over a range of course units. It is concluded that postgraduate students are as capable as undergraduate students of adopting appropriate orientations in their studying.
