Abstract

The objective of the article is the development, scientific substantiation and practical application of mathematical modeling of cogeneration steam-turbine plants. The relevance of the work is in the need to improve the CHP plants' technical and economic performance. Mathematical models have proven to be useful in solving various practical tasks. The article uses an executable Delphi file as an example of a computational mathematical model for a 50 MW turbine. It has been demonstrated that the described mathematical model can be used to build similar models of power plants, turbines, and boiler units. We have given some examples of the use of power plants mathematical models to define the most efficient operational modes as well as to avoid some ineffective solutions. The obtained results make it possible to define optimal operating modes of the real-life CHP plant's machinery. The same results enable us to compute the absolute and comparative efficiency for this type of machinery, when compared, for instance, to the condensing turbine when getting some additional power.
