Abstract
In the work it is presented approaches of determining mobile station location, based on handover and paging procedures. Theprocedures work in the location area or cell zones. Different handover cases demanding necessary network equipment are analysed.Trying to achieve more accurate location of mobile station it is chosen method determining the delay of signal in subscriber line. Inorder to minimize network resources necessary for location it is reduced the number of queries that depends on the time when locationinformation was updated last time. Dependency of mobile station location uncertainty and arrangement of road and Base TransceiverStation in the case of one Base Transceiver Station is analyzed. It is remarked that when distance increases, the quantity of uncertaintybecomes independent from distance between road and Base Transceiver Station. Experimental results with definite possible signal delayvalues are given in order to check theoretical calculations. Ill. 9, bibl. 13 (in Lithuanian; summaries in Lithuanian, English and Russian).
