Abstract

A group of state officials in Missouri contends that a component of the workforce that has been used successfully in other fields could have important applicability to human services during a severe labor shortage. Although the innovative Missouri Talent Pathways apprenticeship program will be implemented in the state Department of Mental Health's Division of Developmental Disabilities, officials are confident that the program can be replicated in mental health, aging and a host of other human‐service sectors.
