Abstract

This paper deals with the losses occuring in the cable conductor by the axial magnetic field, which is produced by the single copper wires of the outer shield in case of bonding both sides of the shield. A theoretical consideration determines the losses in copper- and aluminium conductors for commonly used frequencies depending on the shield characteristics. For an exemplary chosen cable configuration the additional losses are calculated.
