Abstract

This paper appraises and measures the effect of an existing Building Information Modeling (BIM) re-education program designed by the C Educational Institute in Korea. BIM is a relatively recent type of modeling being adopted by the construction industry. The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of the BIM re-education program on students’ career development throughout the construction industry. The case program aims to provide those who are unemployed or have recently graduated with an opportunity to begin their career development within the construction. The program in association with Bloom’s Taxonomy will be used to analyze the impact of BIM education on a student’s career development. The impact of the re-education on career development will be assessed and will determine the feasibility of the research. The analysis showed that students who successfully completed this BIM program had a high chance of finding employment. The course also improved the students’ knowledge and helped most of them find employment, indicating that it was an effective education curriculum.
