Abstract
Evaluating the sexual recidivism risk is one of the major concerns in contemporary society. The proof consists in the number of law devices promoted since the promulgation of the juin 17th 1998 law. This evaluation is one of the main psychiatric expertise missions, preceding the classical mission of penal responsibility. The limits of the simple clinical evaluation are well known long since. For this reason, some devices have been developed in order to reduce the uncertainty. Our aim is to briefly expose the different existing devices, some being quite old and currently used (actuary scales, phallometry), others still experimental (functional cerebral imagistic).
