Abstract

One of the challenges of using research is applying the results of scientific investigation to the relatively uncontrolled real-life practice situations that health care professionals encounter. This process was used to design and implement a strength-training program for older adults in a senior high-rise building with 425 residents. The resulting program demonstrated that positive benefits can be obtained by applying research findings to the community with a relatively uncontrolled population.
