Abstract

In March 2008, 190 scientists attended an international workshop in Colorado sponsored by UNAVCO to explore research and education advances in geodesy and its spectrum of applications in geosciences. The meeting featured groundbreaking science that resulted from recent innovation, including solid Earth applications as well as emerging research focusing on the cryosphere and atmosphere, with plenary sessions on polar science and glacier dynamics, geodetic monitoring of natural hazards, seismic‐cycle geodesy, and magmatic systems.
