Abstract
AbstractResearch has been a prominent function of universities, so the evaluation and management of research performance in universities has become a key issue to be solved, but there are still some problems like the efficiency and reliability. The utilization of big data has made it possible for the evaluation and management of research performance in technologies, ideas and critical changes to deal with the existing problems. On the base of big data, identifying which scientific knowledge and technological needs are the most critical to plan scientific research. Through the establishment of university personnel databases, results databases, funding databases, facts laboratory database, teaching and scientific research database to a rational allocation of sources provides scientific and effective management means. So it is necessary to improve big data infrastructure and establish big data standards in sharing, teachers and researchers in universities have to be aware of the development and application of big data technology.KeywordsBig dataResearchResearch performanceUniversities
