Abstract
This study describes the types of applicative constructions in Mountain Balinese (MB). It shows that applicative constructions in MB generally follow the same mechanism as those in the related languages such as Indonesian for their derivation whereby a non-core argument marked by an object NP of a preposition in the intransitive counterpart is mapped onto a core argument. It also shows that MB exhibits a property of being a symmetrical language
