Abstract

We will give five applications of the classification of Lagrangian singularities: to the method of the stationary phase (that is, to the theory of integrals of rapidly oscillating functions), to the asymptotics of the number of (integer) lattice points in generic large smooth domains, to the cosmological theory of the large scale structure of the Universe, and to the study of perestroikas of optical caustics and shock waves.KeywordsShock WavePhase FunctionBurger EquationOscillatory IntegralMixed Hodge StructureThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
