Abstract

The multidimensional Dirac delta function and the Heaviside unit step function are shown to be analytical tools of use in solving classical demonstrations of Gauss's Law in electrostatics. Applications in spherically symmetric and cylindrically symmetric scenarios are presented-and verified by the differential form of Gauss's Law.
