Abstract

AbstractMössbauer spectroscopy is one of the new tools which recently have been applied to the study of HDS catalysts. The technique has several unique features which make it especially useful in the study of such catalysts and it has given answers to some of the much debated problems, The studies have yielded insight into, for example. The origin of promotion, (ii) the reason for catalytic synergy, (iii) the nature of the active phase, (iv) the observed similarities between unsupported and supported catalysts, and (v) loading and support effects. The article will review the available literature as well as bring forward some new results.
