Abstract

AbstractModel-driven control has very interesting and attractive characteristics from a practical point of view and has been applied to steel process control. This paper focuses on two of those examples; one is an application of the disturbance observer in continuous casting and the other is that of IMC in hot rolling. The relationship between the two model-driven control architectures is clarified and the origin of their practical usefulness is discussed through the above applications.
