Abstract
In this study, an insight review for Multiphase and Multicomponent (MPMC) flow using LBM is summarized for providing an initiation to engineers and researchers delving into the relatively young domain of Lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) applied to multi-component and multi-phase flow. LBM became popular in the recent day for solving the MPMC due to its simplicity in handling intricate boundary condition problem. Now a days LBM is modified for handling MPMC problems associated with higher density ratio, high Rayleigh number, high Reynolds number and axisymmetric geometries. Further improvement on the advancement of LBM is still in progress, which shows that LBM is not yet fully explored. LBM is in Mesoscopic scale which originated from applications of statistical mechanics in space and time and provides 2nd order accuracy.
