Abstract

The different models of fluid transport in porous media are summarized and their applications in oil reservoir simulation are analysed. It is shown that the problems for application of these models and of fractal concepts are of three types: no validity of the models due to viscous forces always present in both fluids at large scale, difficulty to use fractal geometry as a model of reservoir and finally the need for analytical or differential equations.
