Abstract

The study illustrates the application of the theory of derived Markov chains to queueing problems. After a short review of those parts of the theory of derived Markov chains needed here the queueing problem with one server, arbitrary service time distribution and with group arrival of the customers is studied. The size of the group of customers arriving simultaneously is a stochastic variable. The distribution of the interarrival times of the groups is negative exponential.
