Abstract

Objective To investigate the application value of interleukin-27(IL-27) in the rapid diagnosis of tuberculous pleural effusion. Methods Forty-five patients with tuberculous pleural effusion were selected and divided into two groups according to their ages, with 20 cases in group A and 25 cases in group B; 40 patients without tuberculous pleural effusion were selected as the control group; the levels of adenosine deaminase (ADA), γ-interferon (IFN-γ) and IL-27 in tuberculous pleurisy pleural effusion were detected. Results ① The levels of ADA, IFN-γ, IL-27 in tuberculous pleural effusion group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P 0.05). ③ When 45 U/L, 200 ng/L, 400 ng/L was regarded as the critical value of ADA, IFN- γ, IL-27, the sensitivity was 84.4%, 88.9%, 91.1%, respectively; the specificity was 85.0%, 80.0%, 90.0%, respectively. The combination of IFN-γ and IL-27, ADA and IL-27 can improve the diagnostic efficiency. Conclusions IL-27 has higher diagnostic efficacy, and has certain clinical value in the rapid diagnosis of tuberculous pleural effusion. It can provide theoretical basis for the early diagnosis and treatment of tuberculous pleural effusion. Key words: Tuberculous pleural effusion; Interleukin -27; Application value
