Abstract

Up to now, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technology has been widely used in surface detection, bridge gaps detection, cave investigation, pile foundation projects and so on. In seismic exploration, researches about blasting cavity of dynamite source always play an important role in studying the propagation law of seismic wave. This paper is mainly introducing an application test about the GPR technology which is first applied in study of the blasting cavity. We have done a field exploration test of researching the depth and shape of blasting cavity in near surface using GPR. And it has found from the experiment that the interpretation results using GPR technique and the real measured results are basically the same, which proves that using Geological Penetrating Radar method to study cavity of the seismic dynamite source can get a good effect.
