Abstract

Objective To study the application effect of two-way comprehensive psychological intervention model in patients with cleft lip and palate. Methods A total of 150 patients with cleft lip and palate were divided into the observation group (76 cases) and the control group(74 cases) according to admission time from January 2010 to December 2012. The observation group was undergoing comprehensive psychological intervention. The control group was undergoing routine care.The hope level and social support condition of patients in two groups were compared. Results After the intervention, the total score of hope level in observation group was (40.52±4.21), which was significantly higher than (35.68±3.82) before the intervention and (37.28±4.06) in the control group (t=7.422, 4.798, respectively; P<0.01). After the intervention, the total score of social support in observation group was (43.61±7.12), which was significantly higher than (35.04±5.29) before the intervention and (38.69±6.82) in the control group (t=8.423, 4.322, respectively; P<0.01). The total scores of social support of patients′ parents and self-rating symptom were significantly improved after the intervention and significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusions Two-way comprehensive psychological intervention model can improve the hope of patients with cleft lip and palate, improve social support of patients and their parents, and improve parents′ physical and mental health.
