Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of the Newman-care system model on senile hypertension.Methods 66 cases of elderly patients with hypertension were randomly divided into control group and observation group (n=33).Newman-care system model was applied on the observation group,the control group received conventional nursing.Blood pressure and quality of life were compared in two groups.Results In the observation group,systolic blood pressure dropped by an average level of 26.70 mmHg,diastolic blood pressure dropped by an average level of 15.10 mmHg,compared with those of the control group,the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05).The patients overall functional quality of life score was 16.70 points,compared with the control group,the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05).Conclusion In hypertensive patients,the implementation of the Newman-care system model can control patients' blood pressure effectively and improve their quality of life.
