Abstract

Abstract Well testing methodology was modified for Daqing field to account for the case in which rows of wells are brought on production and injection. Other applications of well testing are given including analyzing the effectiveness of fracturing, and detecting distortion of casing in a water injection well. An example is given of using well tests to evaluate the effectiveness of a lime suspension treatment to plug a large channel. Examples are also provided of how interference tests were used in conjunction with tracer testing to evaluate inter-well communication and fracture direction.
