Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of video ward rounds based on WeChat in the cultivation of junior nurses in Operation Room. Methods From January 2016 to January 2017, 50 nurses who work for less than 5 years in the Operation Room of Taizhou Central Hospital of Zhejiang Province were selected as the research object by convenient sampling method. They were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, each with 25 nurses. Nurses in the control group received the traditional teaching method, while nurses in the control group were given the teaching method of video ward rounds based on WeChat. We compared the theoretical scores, scores of operating performance and the scores of emergency ability between the nurses of two groups. Results The theoretical scores of the nurses in the observation group were (84.33±6.21) points, and the control group was (82.38±5.76) points, and the difference was not statistically significant (t=1.507, P=0.297) ; The scores of operating performance and the scores of emergency ability of the nurses in the observation group nurses were (92.19±3.16) and (92.33±3.85) points, they were higher than the control group[ (87.81±4.13) and (88.86±3.65) points], the difference was statistically significant (t=3.862, 3.002; P<0.05) . Conclusions The video ward rounds based on WeChat can improve the performance of operation and emergency handling ability among junior nurses, and it is worth popularizing.
