Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of grading and individual health education on improving disease related knowledge, compliance behavior and satisfaction with health education in patients with hip replacement. Methods A total of 63 cases of patients with hip replacement were divided randomly into two groups; experimental group and control group. For experimental group, individual health education was carried out at three stages including post-fracture, perioperative period and convalescence stages while patients in the study group were given routine instructions. Indicators including health education level and compliance behavior were compared between before and after health education. Results Awareness of disease related knowledge in experimental group was higher than that in control group, with 100% and 77. 4% respectively. As for the satisfaction with health education, the experimental group was 100% higher than the control group(80.6% ). In compliance behavior, the experimental group was better than the control group too. Conclusions Grading and individual health education can increase the health knowledge level of treatment and enhance compliance behavior and health education satisfaction in patients with hip replacement.
