Abstract

Detection of antibodies to tumor associated antigen(TAA) in sera can be used for early diagnosis of cancer. For hepatocellular carcinoma, the sensivitity of any individual TAA rarely exceeds 20% ;with the successive addition of TAA to a final total of eight antigens(including c-myc, p53, cyclin B1, p62,Koc, IMPI, survivin, p16), antibody detection frequency is extremely increased and the sensivitity reaches 59. 9%. Thereby detection of autoantibodies in sera by using a mini-array of several TAAs as target antigens can be better used for early diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma, which provide a new approach not only to early immunodiagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma but also to that of other cancers.
