Abstract

This paper describes a trapezoidal-wave current control method for a bidirectional non-isolated dc-dc converter based on a flying-capacitor converter. Compared with the conventional sinusoidal-wave current control method, the trapezoidalwave current control method can reduce the peak value of the inductor and device currents under the same root-mean-square (RMS) current. The effectiveness of the current control method is verified using a 200 V, 600 W downscaled model. It is shown that the peak current can be reduced from-13.2 A to-10.2 A using the trapezoidal-wave current control method under the same power.
