Abstract

The results of the investigations of the upper layer properties of the parts produced using thermo-frictional and mechanical treatment methods aimed at defining perspectives of their application in progressive machine design have been presented. Complex methods of thermo-frictional and mechanical treatment providing for the realization of finishing treatment operations aimed at obtaining the surfaces of parts having specific properties, which is provided by the use of cementation, nitriding, and surface alloying processes including bearing units of axial and radial types have been presented. It was determined that the bronzinged and steel sections of surface have a strong connection and form a unified treated surface permitting further mechanical treatment providing for their application in bearing units. It was proved that the suggested complex methods can be efficiently applied for spot low mobile contact junctions thus providing for the uniform distribution of contact tensions and the reliability of connections under tangential load.
