Abstract
In this paper, the adaptation of the Six Sigma principle through the DMAIC methodology for the construction industry was investigated and implemented. The application selected methodology concerning the detailed determination of the phases of DMAIC with the primary objective is to solve workplace accidents in the construction industry. The DMAIC methodology was selected for detailed investigation and implementation in the construction industry. Each phase of DMAIC will be developed systematically by using selected quality tools to ensure solving the workplace accident in the construction area. The findings from the data analysed imply that DMAIC methodology is an effective approach in minimising the workplace accident. Based on the investigation and implementation of the selected construction cell, the result shows the adaptation of DMAIC with suitable tools for each phase complements well with the occupational, safety, and health (OSH) program. The industrial accident rate was drastically eliminated by implementing the whole phases.
