Abstract

A review is given of the application of the reciprocity theorem to acoustic measurement of flaws. Starting from the reciprocity theorem derived by Auld and Kino, a discussion of how the theory is applied to cracks and to bulk flaws is given. The experimental results obtained for measurement of crack size and stress intensity factor agree well with the theory.
