Abstract
Higher-order whispering-gallery modes in dielectric resonators have shown great potential in circuit designs, providing high Q and stability with realisable dimensions. In the Letter, the finite integration technique is used to solve for the reasonance frequencies of an oversized dielectric resonator. This method is a full Maxwellian approach with no a priori assumption of the field distribution. The calculated resonance frequencies obtained show close agreement with the experimental and theoretical results of Loechel.
