Abstract

It is shown that a small set of quasi static hysteresis loop measurements and one dynamic loop measurement are sufficient to define the Preisach model of hysteresis of a ferromagnetic core. The model can be applied to the calculation, with no free parameters, of the dynamic voltage and current response of a transformer circuit with an applied sinusoidal current waveform and the secondary circuit closed on a purely resistive load.
