Abstract
Information systems are vital in supporting organizations or agencies. Therefore it is crucial to know the success of an information system. The success model of McLone and DeLone is one of the most popular models used to evaluate the success of an information system. This article explores the importance of evaluating the success of a web-based information system. The Literature review is carried out to determine the aspects and characteristics of the success of a web-based information system. The review examined up to 250 articles published between 2015 – 2020 on database indexing within topics related to the 'Information System Success Model,’ 'Delone and McLean are Model,' and 'Information System Adoption' keywords. The papers were thoroughly screened utilizing the Systematic Literary Review framework, which resulting twenty prominent articles. The review shows three themes of the success of information systems: characteristics of success in information systems, factors affecting the success of information systems, and success model implementation. The results of this study are to determine the characteristics of success in the success model as well as provide an explanation of the implementation of the success model and provide insight into the findings of knowledge gaps in topics related to the success of educational information systems and strategies or steps to follow up on the results of evaluating the success of an information system.
