Abstract

The article analyzes the energy potential of small rivers. It is concluded that the energy potential of small rivers is many times higher than large ones. The development of small river energy is constrained by a number of problems. These are environmental problems, large financial costs associated with the creation of small hydropower plants, problems of obtaining high-quality electricity with seasonal changes in water consumption in rivers. To solve these problems, it is proposed to use an innovative generator. This generator is a hydro generator of submersible type with combined excitation. It is small in size thanks to the use of powerful permanent magnets and it has excitation winding to regulate the magnetic flux. The generator has a complex magnetic circuit, so a complex program Ansys Electronics Desktop is used to analyze the generator. The developed digital model of the generator showed good convergence with the real generator on the main parameters and characteristics. The results of the analysis are presented.
