Abstract

The boson expansion theory is applied to even Se and Kr isotopes with neutron number N=38-48. Energy spectra, B(E2) values and quadrupole moments are calculated and fairly good agreement with experimental data is obtained. The coupling of collective quadrupole and monopole pairing vibrational modes is also included in order to fit low-lying 02+ states in some of the nuclei. The calculated values of the quadrupole moments indicate that both Se and Kr nuclei are in a transitional region from a prolate to an oblate shape.
