Abstract
Various kinetic equations, namely the Avrami, Tobin, Malkin, and Urbanovici–Segal models, have been applied to describe the kinetics of primary crystallization from the melt state of syndiotactic polypropylene (s-PP) under isothermal conditions. Analysis was carried out using a data-fitting procedure, in which the experimental data were fitted directly to each model using a non-linear multi-variable regression program. The results suggested that the experimental data of s-PP can be best described by the Urbanovici–Segal model, followed by the Avrami, Malkin, and Tobin models, respectively.
