Application of the asymptotic Green's-function approximation toe−-H scattering

Abstract

We have performed calculations for the excitation of the $2{p}_{m}$ states of the hydrogen atom by electron impact for $\ensuremath{\lambda}$, $\ensuremath{\chi}$, and $\frac{d\ensuremath{\sigma}}{d\ensuremath{\Omega}}$ within our recently proposed asymptotic Green's function approximation, and the results are compared with the experimental observations and other theoretical predictions. Agreement between our calculated results and experimental data is reasonably good.
