Abstract

In recent years, the surge in renewable energy generation makes the operation status of power systems more complex and the possibility for the occurrence of subsynchronous control interaction (SSCI) phenomenon increases. These may pose a major risk to equipment safety and system stability, leading to a potential generator tripping. Accurate and rapid identification of SSCI source is the key to establishing mitigation measures. This paper proposes a method for real-time identification of SSCI source through the application of sub/super-synchronous power. First, by deriving the generation of different SSCI scenarios, the concept of sub/super-synchronous power is given. Then, by using the Park's transformation and band-stop filter, the SSCI power is extracted. The correctness and feasibility of the proposed method are verified on the equivalent model and the wind farm system model.
