Abstract

Presently, industries are struggling to sustain business pressure by relying purely on traditional supply chain management (TSCM) model without environmental consciousness. In this view, many of them around the world started to implement green supply chain management (GSCM) concepts into their TSCM. During this modification, industries faced many hurdles (barriers) restricting the GSCM engagement into TSCM. This study aims to analyse and validate the barrier relationships to implement the GSCM in the Indian automotive sector. Based on the hypothesis a causal model was developed using these barriers. The hypotheses were developed using previous literature to validate the barrier relationships. Delphi technique was used to take the opinions of experts are taken with the help of questionnaires. Structural equation modelling (SEM) is an a prior technique and it is capable of validating a set of hypotheses for barrier relationships. Using the SEM approach in the LISREL software package, the hypotheses were validated through two options; accepted or rejected.
